Service Description:
As a Data Analyst in Business Controlling, you will extract actionable insights from financial and operational data to support decision-making, optimize performance, and drive digital transformation. You will leverage advanced analytics, Python, AI/ML, and automation to analyze large datasets, improve forecast reliability and anomaly detection, while continuously experimenting, testing hypotheses, and refining analytical models to innovate the controlling function.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple internal sources (ERP, SAP, reporting systems, Excel).
- Develop automated dashboards, visualizations, and advanced analytics using Power BI, Python, VS Code, and low-code tools.
- Build and maintain predictive and analytical models (forecasting, anomaly detection, scenario analysis) to support budgeting, forecasting, and investment decisions.
- Integrate AI and machine-learning capabilities into controlling and reporting processes, in collaboration with business and IT teams.
- Design and maintain automated data pipelines in Python (data transformation, ETL, data quality checks) to reduce manual effort.
- Deliver ad-hoc analyses and business cases, translating results into clear insights and recommendations.
- Document solutions and support self-service analytics through training and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with finance, IT, and data engineering to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Requirements:
- Advanced Python proficiency for data analysis, modeling, and automation (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
- Experience with BI and low-code analytics tools (Power BI, Power Apps, VS Code or similar).
- Strong knowledge of statistics and AI/ML techniques applied to business use cases (highly valued).
- Solid understanding of finance and controlling processes, KPIs, and reporting needs.
- Ability to translate business questions into analytical solutions and actionable insights.
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously on complex, unstructured datasets, from data exploration to model design and business interpretation.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar.
- Previous experience (2–5 years) as a Data Analyst, preferably in a business controlling or finance environment.
- Good level of Dutch and/or French and English is required.
