Mission Context:

The Test Engineer will focus on regression testing and test automation to ensure faster, quality releases. The role involves adopting effective regression testing in Agile and DevOps practices to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products, with all features tested end-to-end.

Responsibilities:

• Manage tests from creating test plans and test cases in Octane to developing automated tests and conducting integration tests.

• Support business acceptance tests and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams.
• Plan, execute, and support various testing instances (Integration, Regression, Business Acceptance).
• Develop automated tests using Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber (BDD approach) for backend services.
• Create comprehensive test suites for RESTful APIs, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical specifications.
• Integrate the framework with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automated test execution in Agile sprints.
• Define and maintain test data strategies, including mocking external dependencies.
• Analyze API responses for correctness, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with developers to identify and troubleshoot defects.
• Act as a quality advocate, promoting shift-left testing and test-driven development (TDD/BDD) practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to contribute to testability improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
• Work with Product Owners to refine acceptance criteria and translate business rules into executable test scenarios.
• Monitor and report on test coverage metrics, defect trends, and automation efficiency.
• Mentor junior team members on API testing best practices and automation techniques.
• Stay updated on emerging testing tools and methodologies and propose innovations.

Education and Certifications:

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Certifications in testing (e.g., ISTQB, Agile Testing) or API technologies (e.g., Rest-Assured, Insomnia) are a plus.

Language Requirements:

• English: Fluent

• French and Dutch: Not required but nice-to-have

Experience and Technical Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in IT Testing.

• 5+ years of experience in API test automation using Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber.
• Strong background in functional, regression, and integration testing for APIs.
• Experience with mocking frameworks (e.g., Mockito, WireMock).
• Proficiency in Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI, databases (Oracle), and mainframe integrations is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of performance testing and security testing (OWASP principles).

Business Experience:

• Understanding of credit/loan processes, with mortgage lending being a strong plus.
