General role:
The Senior Business Data Analyst plays a central role in transforming data into performance drivers. Their mission is to understand business needs and structure functional requirements in order to design data solutions that improve performance, decision-making and operational efficiency. They act as an interface between the business, data and IT teams, with a high degree of autonomy.
Key responsibilities:
Business requirements analysis and functional scoping
Gathering, clarifying and formalising stakeholder requirements.
Facilitating scoping and clarification workshops.
Translating these requirements into functional and data requirements.
Prioritising requests based on business value and technical constraints.
Data modelling and management
Helping to define data models and information flows.
Contribute to improving data quality, consistency and governance.
Collaborate with IT and business data experts to ensure the availability and reliability of datasets.
Analysis and insight generation
Conduct quantitative analyses to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
Develop relevant KPIs and dashboards tailored to business needs.
Provide concrete recommendations based on analytical findings.
Coordination and communication
Facilitate communication between technical and business teams.
Present results in a clear, concise and action-oriented manner.
Support users in adopting data tools and solutions.
Continuous improvement and innovation
Identify opportunities to optimise business processes using data.
Contribute to the company’s data roadmap.
Participate in cross-functional projects (automation, data quality, data governance, etc.).
Required skills:
Technical skills:
Data analysis, SQL, understanding of data models and flows.
Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.), definition of KPIs.
Understanding of data architectures (data warehouse, data lake, etc.).
Ability to read and understand data models.
Basic knowledge of statistics and data science (a plus).
Functional skills:
Drafting functional specifications and user stories.
Knowledge of business processes, ability to challenge requirements.
Ability to propose suitable solutions.
Experience in project management or agile methodology.
