ServiceNow Project Manager – CMDB
Role Description:
As a ServiceNow Project Manager – CMDB, you will be responsible for ensuring that organizational objectives related to the implementation of IT Configuration Management processes and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) are clearly defined and successfully delivered within the ServiceNow environment. You will engage with key stakeholders to capture expectations regarding configuration processes and data. In close collaboration with a team of functional and technical experts, you will define, plan, and manage the delivery of these outcomes throughout the full project lifecycle. This role goes beyond application delivery and focuses on ensuring that services and configuration data effectively support the broader IT organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify stakeholders and capture business expectations related to Configuration Management processes and data.
- Define target organizational outcomes and translate them into project deliverables.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the implementation of CMDB-related initiatives, including:
- Integration of automated data sources
- Service mapping and discovery
- Configuration data maintenance (CIs and services)
- Coordinate with functional and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, including scope, planning, execution, and delivery.
- Ensure alignment between application delivery and business expectations.
- Monitor project progress and report to stakeholders and governance bodies (e.g., SteerCo).
- Manage risks, dependencies, and changes in a complex environment.
Profile:
Must-have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in IT software or SaaS implementation projects.
- Proven experience in IT Configuration Management and/or CMDB implementation.
- Strong communication skills in English (minimum C1) and Dutch or French (minimum C level).
- Legal authorization to work in Belgium.
- Availability to work on-site (Wednesday and Thursday).
Nice-to-have:
- Strong project management capabilities (planning, budgeting, resource management, scope & risk management).
- Experience with ITIL process implementation.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and CMDB, including:
- Discovery
- Integrations
- Automated data sources
- CSDM (considered a plus)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (presentations, workshops, reporting, steering committees).
- Experience in complex environments (large-scale projects, multiple stakeholders, ambiguity).
- Knowledge of project delivery methodologies such as:
- Agile / SAFe
- PM² / PMBOK
- PRINCE2
