Senior Data Engineer – Manufacturing

(Part-Time)

Work Regime: Part-time, 50%

Role Overview:

This part-time engagement is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to deliver significant impact without a full-time commitment. The role combines hands-on technical delivery with a coaching and quality assurance function for the broader team. A minimum engagement of one year is preferred to ensure effective onboarding and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead data initiatives in the manufacturing domain, including sustainability and circularity reporting, and operational data ingestion for benchmarking and internal reporting.

• Elevate data engineering practices by improving data modelling standards, UAT processes, support models, and the quality of analytical deliverables across the team.
• Coach and review by providing peer reviews of technical work, mentoring junior engineers, and enforcing quality stage gates.
• Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines and solutions using modern cloud-based analytical platforms.
• Bridge business and technology by collaborating with product managers, project managers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into solid data solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical:

• Proven track record as a Senior or Principal Data Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Power BI, and Azure data services.
• Solid understanding of batch and streaming architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a strong plus.
