Job Title: Data Engineer (Medior–Senior) – Databricks Focus

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 1 year (extension possible - long-term assignment)

Regime: Full-time, 2-3 days onsite required

Location: Antwerp

Language: Professional English required, Dutch preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize data solutions on Databricks, focusing on reliable ingestion, transformation, and analytics use cases.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to business and IT stakeholders, explaining platform capabilities, trade-offs, and best-fit technical solutions.
• Translate data and analytics requirements into practical, scalable implementations within the existing data ecosystem.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape data platform evolution, with an eye on performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Support data consumers (analytics, reporting, data science) by delivering high-quality, well-documented datasets.
• Collaborate closely with other data engineers, analysts, and solution architects to ensure alignment and reuse of best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Several years of experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer (medior–senior level).
• Strong, hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, notebooks, orchestration, optimization).
• Very good command of Python and SQL for data transformation and analysis.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (preferably Azure) and data lake/lakehouse concepts.
• Solid understanding of batch processing; exposure to streaming is a plus.
• Experience with BI and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) is an asset.
