Data & Platform Engineer Azure/Fabric

Location: Gosselies + Remote

Languages: French 

Start Date: 25/05/26

End Date: 31/12/26

Responsibilities:

Data Engineer Main Tasks (80%):

  • Develop ingestion flows via Fabric Data Factory and understand Azure Data Factory.
  • Develop data transformation flows via Fabric Factory Notebook.
  • Optimize transformation queries, considering associated Azure costs.
  • Contribute to the modeling of the Lake House.
  • Establish technical design and implement medallion architecture (silver and gold) in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Establish and track unit (automatable) test plans.
  • Participate in estimating development effort during scoping.
  • Write technical documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and maintenance, including incident resolution.

Platform Engineer Fabric Main Tasks (20%):

  • Administer, configure, and scale the Microsoft Fabric platform.
  • Monitor changes to Microsoft Fabric and assess their relevance.
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize Fabric capacities.
  • Maintain and develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) linked to the data platform.
  • Design, implement, test, and document platform changes.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, IAM, and FinOps teams.
  • Contribute to platform support and continuous service reliability improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in a SaaS infrastructure role (1-2 years).

  • Proven experience as a data developer/data engineer (3-5 years).
  • Proven experience with Spark framework (PySpark) and Python (3-5 years).
  • Proven experience with SQL and/or T-SQL.
  • Proven experience in the Azure Cloud ecosystem (3-5 years).
  • Proven experience in the Fabric ecosystem (1-2 years).
  • Proven experience with Git & CI/CD.
  • Proven experience in dimensional modeling.
  • Mastery of Lake House principles and Data Cloud Platform security principles.
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification.

Desired Skills and Certifications:

  • Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) certification.

  • Knowledge of security development best practices.
  • Proven experience in Infrastructure As Code (IaC).
  • Mastery of Fabric Data Factory and/or Azure Data Factory.
  • Mastery of Synapse Spark, Fabric, or Databricks.
  • Mastery of Azure Storage Account / OneLake principles.
  • Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (AZ-305) certification.
  • Experience with DAX and Power BI is a plus.
