Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair complex equipment and systems at client locations.
- Diagnose technical problems and perform effective repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Document service activities and maintain accurate records.
- Train coworkers on equipment operation and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex technical problems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
- Provide technical support and occasionally train end-users on equipment operation.
- Travel to customer sites across Belgium for service and support.
- Prepare technical write-ups for machine function and troubleshooting.
- Edit and troubleshoot programs using laptop computers and software.
- Work with custom PC & printers, bearings, security locks, touchscreens, and displays.
Conformity Criteria:
- Experience as a service technician outside of an office or PC environment. Knowledge of Windows or Linux is not necessary.
- Willingness to travel daily (approximately 200–300 km per day) in a non-office-based role and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Possession of a valid driving license (Category B) and own vehicle with sufficient trunk space (no mini, sports car, coupé, or convertible).
- Experience with Teams and Outlook.
- Proficiency in Dutch or French (C1 level) and knowledge of the other language (NL/FR) and English (B2 level).
Evaluation Criteria:
- Ability to independently analyze and resolve malfunctions. (Describe how you would approach a defective device when the cause is not immediately clear.)
- Capability to perform maintenance and repairs remotely. (Demonstrable experience with remote support tools or monitoring software.)
- Ability to install, configure, and test new devices. (Explain how you verify that a device is functioning correctly after installation.)
- Skill in preparing accurate and clear technical reports. (How do you ensure your intervention report is complete and understandable?)
- Knowledge of ServiceNow.
