Progress OpenEdge Developer

Duration: 01/07/2026 – 31/12/2026, with an option for extension

Location: Gent

Language Requirements: Proficiency in Dutch; knowledge of French is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using ABL (Advanced Business Language).
• Design and optimize database access with OpenEdge DB.
• Build and expose APIs via OpenEdge Studio.
• Analyze and improve performance, focusing on queries, locking, and transactions.
• Integrate with internal and external systems.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge / ABL.

• Solid understanding of temp-tables, datasets, buffers, transactions, and locking mechanisms (NO-LOCK, SHARE-LOCK, EXCLUSIVE-LOCK).
• Experience with OpenEdge database design and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of APIs and experience with PASOE (Progress Application Server).

Desired Skills:

• Experience with .NET.

• Familiarity with modern IDEs such as Progress Developer Studio / PDSOE.
• Experience with APIDOG.
