Description:
The Customer Experience Solution is responsible for customer-facing IT systems, including commercial channels and products, passenger information systems, and systems for stations, facilities, and buildings. We are looking for a Solution Architect for the Future Proof Passenger Information (FPPI) program. As a Solution Architect, you will define solution architectures within the FPPI program. You should have the ability to grasp the complexity associated with large-scale systems and break it down into simpler, understandable bits for both engineers and business stakeholders. You will facilitate architectural processes, identify desired qualities and constraints, ensure risks and trade-offs are discussed within the team(s), and guide business and IT management to make informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the architecture of assigned products is sound, well-understood, and evolves to best support the business case while following existing guardrails.
- Facilitate architectural debates, ensuring decisions are made consciously and trade-offs or derived risks are well understood internally and externally.
- Act as a key partner between business stakeholders, IT managers, enterprise architects, domain architects, and delivery teams.
- Validate solution design and follow up on its implementation to ensure correct implementation of solution architecture.
- Share knowledge across colleagues.
- Evaluate project constraints to find alternatives, alleviate risks, and perform re-engineering if required.
- Update stakeholders about any issues connected to the architecture.
- Conduct architectural analysis of epics.
Conformity Criteria:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a software architect (solution, integration, or application), demonstrated in the CV.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the railway industry.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience with API managers and API gateways.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in integration architecture.
- Certified for Archimate (minimum foundation level).
- Certified for Open Agile Architecture.
- Willing to work on-site up to 5 days per week in Brussels, if required.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Level of experience with Kafka, Azure Cloud, and event-driven architectures (number of projects, role, responsibilities).
- Experience in API design using Swagger/OpenAPI (number of APIs designed, role, complexity).
- Proficiency in UML and ArchiMate modeling (types of diagrams, use in projects, role).
- Depth and relevance of architectural experience in similar environments (scope, technologies, role, duration).
