Researcher/Data Analyst

Assignment Duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension

Desired Start Date: 01/08/2026

Work Regime: Full-time

Location: Vlaams-Brabant (Fully On-site presence required)

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement data-driven classification workflows for time-resolved image data, including dataset preparation and feature engineering.
2. Apply and evaluate machine-learning models to extract and interpret key performance metrics.
3. Analyze model performance, including validation, robustness, and risks such as overfitting.
4. Optimize preprocessing and data pipelines to improve model accuracy and scalability.
5. Communicate results through clear visualizations and presentations to support decision-making.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a strong interest in biology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in computer vision, including image and time-resolved data analysis.
• Strong expertise in machine learning, particularly classification methods and model evaluation.
• Experience with image processing pipelines, including preprocessing and feature extraction.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries.

• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data insights.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

Proficiency in English is required.
