Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS & Lockers Infrastructure)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an autonomous Senior Cloud Engineer to own, design, and scale the infrastructure for a new Lockers Platform. In this role, you will lead the AWS cloud environment while bridging central cloud services with local, physical locker systems running on Debian OS.

Core Focus:

• AWS Architecture: Design, automate, and scale the core AWS cloud environment.
• Platform Ownership: Work independently to build out the new lockers platform infrastructure.
• Hybrid Deployment: Support edge deployments to physical locker systems using Debian.
• Kafka Knowledge: Familiarity with Kafka/event platforms without needing deep operational mastery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy robust AWS cloud architecture using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Own the end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle for the new lockers platform.
• Bridge central AWS cloud services with local, physical lockers deployed on-site.
• Optimize deployment workflows and automate operational tasks for high reliability.
• Collaborate with software teams, providing technical guidance on cloud best practices.
• Maintain clear documentation for system architecture, automation workflows, and protocols.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps.
• Proven track record of working independently and taking full ownership of projects.
• Deep expertise in AWS services, focusing on networking, security, and scalability.
• Strong Terraform proficiency for building Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms (conceptual knowledge is fine).
• Bash scripting skills and version control proficiency using Git.

Bonus Points:

• Debian OS Knowledge: Experience managing or deploying software to Linux-based edge hardware.
• IoT or Edge Computing: Previous experience with local, physical device deployments.
• AWS Certification: (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional).
