Role Description

The Cluster Scrum Master plays a pivotal role in facilitating communication, coordination, and cooperation among various stakeholders within and outside the tribe. The primary mission is to assist the tribe/cluster in achieving their goals by ensuring smooth collaboration and facilitating continuous improvement. The Cluster Scrum Master is responsible for helping the cluster to self-organize/manage and reinforcing scrum/scaled agile practices. Additionally, the role involves building and maintaining the Cluster’s main initiatives delivery roadmaps, communicating with delivery stakeholders, and challenging architects, tech experts, and teams on solution completeness within the required business timeframe. Continuous interaction with delivery cluster partners, Test Engineers, and Release Engineers is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Retrospective) and other meetings.
  • Schedule and follow key steps of the methodology.
  • Ensure smooth use of the Scrum methodology and assist the Project Team in overcoming obstacles.
  • Provide support to the Product Owner concerning the Product Backlog.
  • Assist the team in delivering the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, etc.
  • Track team capacity and velocity metrics for planning and progress purposes.
  • Coach and challenge the Project Team to promote gradual self-organization.
  • Remove barriers to team effectiveness and protect the team from outside distractions.
  • Act as an ambassador of agile methods within the company.
  • Report to superiors on the proper deployment of the Scrum methodology within projects.
  • Manage risks and issues effectively.

Language Requirements

  • English: Sound knowledge
  • French: Fluent

Education

Bachelor/Master or equivalent by experience

Agile Requirements

Agile teams are cross-functional, with all required disciplines represented (analysis, development, testing, etc.). Team members are expected to take on other roles and contribute to other disciplines to reach the sprint goal.

Required Experience/Knowledge

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Understanding of tooling on automated unit testing, automated functional testing, and continuous integration tooling
  • Sound knowledge of software development and project management methodologies

Business Experience

Expert knowledge of agile methodology and techniques (e.g., Kanban)
