Mission Context
The Scrum Master is a key reference in a squad following an agile framework, specifically the Scrum methodology. The role involves ensuring the squad's understanding of the methodology and helping the team maximize project results. The Scrum Master protects the team from internal and external distractions and ensures the proper use and application of Agile Methodology. They coach the squad along with business lines and stakeholders, explaining beneficial interactions with the team.
Responsibilities
- Set up and facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Retrospective) and other meetings.
- Schedule and follow key steps of the methodology.
- Ensure smooth use of the Scrum methodology and assist the Project Team in overcoming obstacles.
- Provide assistance or support to the Product Owner concerning the Product Backlog.
- Assist and support the team in delivering the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, etc.
- Track team capacity and velocity metrics for planning and progress purposes.
- Coach and challenge the Project Team, promoting gradual self-organization.
- Remove barriers to team effectiveness and protect the team from outside distractions.
- Act as an ambassador of agile methods within the company.
- Report to superiors on the proper deployment of the Scrum methodology within projects.
Language Requirements
Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language.
Education and Certification
- Master’s degree or equivalent by experience.
- Scrum Master Certification.
Required Experience/Knowledge
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g., Jira).
- Understanding of tooling on automated unit testing, automated functional testing, and continuous integration tooling.
- Sound knowledge of software development methodology.
- Sound knowledge of project management methodology preferable.
- Expert knowledge of agile methodology and techniques; agile mindset and coaching experience.
- Banking experience preferable.
