Contexte/context :
 

• For the Workplace platform server team we are looking for an Expert profile to strengthen the team.

 

• The Workplace platform aims among other tasks to support all employees to be able to work with a workstation (laptop) which is secure, performant and automatically receive all the needed software related to their functions and stays up to date about virus definitions and windows OS. All of this in the least disturbing way possible.

 

• This team naturally also actively participates in ICT projects of all kinds.

 

• Recent experiences show that the way we distribute software, implement security policies and stay align with security best practices have flaws.
• Due to a mix of technologies used to distribute software, we struggled to get one source of truth when it comes to reporting and this is generating a lot of frustration.

 

• More and more workloads will be moved from our on-premises infrastructure to the cloud. Our platform is one of these and we want to do this “right” from start by choosing the right technologies and the right way to do it.

 
Enjeu/inzet:
 

• The intention is to temporarily strengthen the team.

 

• We are therefore looking for an Expert who must be immediately available to strengthen the team, guide and help to implement best practices, guide and help to look outside the boundaries to be able to choose the right tools, solutions.

 

• The migration to Windows 11 is an opportunity to get rid of the bad habit, to start in a clean way and to improve the way that system images, software, patches are distributed.

 

• As explained in the context, a rationalization of tools, simplification of tools is also a goal that we aim for.

A move from our actual tools (to manage Endpoint) to a Unified Endpoint Management SaaS platform is a possibility.
 

• We plan to migrate our footprint into the cloud. The goal is not to duplicate in the cloud what we ‘re using right now but to choose and implement the most efficient solution following the best practices.

 

• Work should be done in an agile way: regular delivery of results that can be used.

 
 
Responsabilités/verantwoordelijkheden:
 

• Expertise in security features, complex password policies, PAM
• Software Distribution (SCCM/MDM)
• W10/11 Security update management 
• W10/11 Upgrade/update management
• Staging  & VDI image Creation and Maintenance
• Security (PC), FW, Defender Endpoint
• GPO management
• Support Windows L3
• Endpoint Build (Laptop, Desktop, RFP, material choice) + L3
• (Mobile Devices Build (image/knox/Intune) + L3)
• (Audio/video meeting room Build  (Teams MTR, material choice) + L3)
• (Scanner Build (RFP, material choice) + L3)
• (Printer infra build (RFP, material choice, server, uniflow, ..) +L3)
• Working with service owners and other teams on tasks related to deployment of software, security fixes,..
• Working with automation and orchestration platforms to automate existing manual processes and workflows.
• Contributing towards the development of standards and best practices related to Workplace platform.
• Contributing to the evolution of team processes and approaches.
• Mentoring colleagues in the use of new technologies or practices.
• Maintaining and administrating existing workplace platform tools.
• Collaborating with colleagues in Platform teams, IT Services and Software Development to determine requirements and solutions to solve problems and progress work.
• Participating in problem analysis in order to prevent recurrence.

 
Gewenste vaardigheden en ervaring/ Compétences et expérience souhaitées :
 

• Expert knowledge of contemporary software distribution tooling and best practice.
• Strong experience of deploying and administering (cloud) “vdi” solution.
• Excellent programming experience with Powershell ideally with, as well as basic scripting ability with Python or Javascript.
• Strong experience working in a large scale, 24/7 enterprise where system uptime and stability is of paramount importance to the business.
• Strong experience with Cloud.(Azure, AWS)
• Expert knowledge regarding Windows operating system, Active Directory, Defender, Intune.
• Keen interest in industry trends; particularly related to cloud, endpoint security, Microsoft portfolio.
• Ability to work with autonomously but also collaborate well and progress work as part of a wider team.
• An eye for security aspects is a requirement.
• Immediately deployable in the team to support:
  • Intune
  • GPO
  • SCCM
  • Active Directory
  • Azure
  • Defender
  • Creation of image
• In-depth knowledge of:
  • Usage of SourceControl: GIT and Gitlab
  • Powershell
  • AWS cloud
  • Azure cloud

 

• Knowledge of :
  • Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Openshift, …
• Experience :
  • Experience with microservices & Cloud Readiness is a plus
  • AWX (Ansible Tower)
  • Terraform (nice to have)

• Participate in the weekly day-to-day support and continuous service.
• Support of the technologies listed above.
• Participate in ICT projects of all kinds with the focus on the workplace platform and all related technologies. (software deployments, security, “vdi”, …)
• Contribute to the development of the workplace platform.
