Opportunity: Product Owner / Project Manager

 

Responsibilities:

  • Sequence Data Workflow Product:
    • Collect requirements from stakeholders.
    • Design and implement solutions.
    • Manage a product backlog.
    • Interface with a development team of about ten developers and a business team of about nine experts in sequence data from various business areas.
  • Field Trial Operational Management Product:
    • Assist with the rollout of a new tool for data management of field trials.
    • Provide support to departments such as biometrics.
    • Help with training of breeders in Europe.
    • Work with stakeholders for testing.
    • Provide ongoing support for data management of field trials in Europe with current and future tools.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Computational Biology / Bioinformatics or related discipline, or in Computer Science with affinity for data science / data management.
    • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with ten years of proven experience in the field.
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Ability to organize and document complex information.
    • Time management skills to run several initiatives in parallel.
    • Efficient project management communication.
    • Decision-making skills.
  • Product Ownership Skills:
    • Full engagement and accountability for the product.
    • Knowledge of scrum and ability to manage a product backlog.
    • Technical understanding to interact with technical leads and developers.
    • Analytical skills to develop generic solutions.
    • Ability to brainstorm and design global solutions.
  • Domain Expertise:
    • Preferred in Bioinformatics / Data Science, Breeding, and/or Statistics.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong team player comfortable with giving and receiving feedback.
  • Experience in R&D environments is a plus.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across geographic locations.
