Functional Architect Opportunity

Location: Hybrid (2 days in-office – Thursday + one additional day of choice)

Start Date: ASAP (Willing to wait up to 2 months for the right candidate)

About the Role

We are looking for a Functional Architect to join a team of 30 professionals, including architects, .NET and COBOL developers, and analysts. As a Functional Architect, you will play a key role in translating business needs into a structured and scalable architecture. You will collaborate across the organization to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business objectives.

Your Responsibilities

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with teams across the organization to understand requirements and provide architectural guidance.
• Requirement Support: Assist Business Analysts in shaping requirements but do not create them yourself.
• Technical Estimations: Provide accurate estimations for activities within your domain and coordinate with other teams to refine estimates.
• Impact Analysis & Visualisation: Map out architectural impacts using UML and clearly explain them to the business.
• Development Support: Once the blueprint is ready, support the development team during implementation.
• Coaching & Delegation: Mentor team members and delegate blueprint responsibilities to a Functional Designer when needed.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough architectural documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.

Who We’re Looking For

• A strong Functional Architect or a Functional Analyst with architectural experience.
• Experience with .NET and/or COBOL development landscapes is a plus.
• Proficient in UML modeling to visualize and communicate impacts.
• Able to bridge the gap between business and IT through clear explanations.
• A good team player who can coach, collaborate, and delegate effectively.
• Not necessarily a senior— a strong medior profile would be a great fit.
