Functional Analyst with Specialization in Data

For a client, we are seeking a Functional Analyst with a specialization in data. This is a replacement position for a colleague whose contract was terminated. The ideal candidate will have a senior profile with over 7 years of experience in functional analysis, focusing on data, BI, Azure Databricks, SQL, and Python.

Important Information:

• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Work Regime: Full-time, with 2 days in the office
• Location: Brussels
• Languages: Dutch and French (at least B2 level in the other language)
• Deadline: As soon as possible

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and conduct interviews with business end users to determine functional and non-functional requirements for BI solutions.
• Translate business needs into logical and physical data models with appropriate documentation.
• Collaborate with the data architect to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain BI solutions according to established standards, ensuring alignment with functional and non-functional requirements.
• Test analytics solutions, conduct troubleshooting, provide maintenance, and create technical documentation.
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects using Power BI or SSRS.
• Conduct prototype reviews and demos, including training on the data model for business users.
• Work with the proxy product owner throughout the project lifecycle to ensure appropriate delivery in an agile and pragmatic approach.

Key Skills:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data functional analysis and BI development in the Microsoft BI stack (including SSIS / SSAS).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering with Azure Databricks, using Python.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Strong data modeling experience (logical and physical modeling).
• Good experience in data warehouse design (Kimball dimensional modeling).
• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL queries, and T-SQL.
• Strong knowledge of Python from a data engineering perspective.
• Good understanding of database management systems, OLAP, and ETL frameworks.
• Experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI and SSRS.
• Experience in Master Data Management and Data Quality Management is a plus.
• Knowledge of Sparx Enterprise Architect is a plus.
• Experience working in an agile project mode is a plus.
