Senior Data Architect Position

For a client we are seeking a Senior Data Architect with at least 7 years of relevant experience.

Proficiency in Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the other language, and English is mandatory.

Role Overview:

As a Data Architect, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing the organization's data strategy to support business objectives. Your responsibilities will include defining data structures, governance, and best practices while ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Data Architecture & Strategy:
  • Design and maintain the organization's data architecture in alignment with business and IT strategy.
  • Define and document data models, flows, and structures to support analytics, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for data consolidation, optimization, and integration.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations (GDPR, etc.).
  • Guide the transition to cloud-based data solutions (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
• Data Management & Integration:
  • Define data modeling techniques and database structures to support business intelligence and operational needs.
  • Oversee data integration and ETL processes to ensure seamless data movement between systems.
  • Establish and maintain metadata management and master data management (MDM) frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Developers to align data solutions with application needs.
• Business Strategy & Analytics Enablement:
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into actionable data solutions.
  • Support data-driven decision-making by ensuring accessibility to high-quality data.
  • Facilitate the development of self-service analytics and reporting capabilities.
  • Identify dependencies between data initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational roadmaps.
• Team Involvement & Best Practices:
  • Define data standards and guidelines for the organization.
  • Promote a culture of data literacy and awareness across departments.
  • Support the teams in troubleshooting data-related issues and performance optimization.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Assist project managers in assessing data-related requirements and risks in projects.
• Ensure alignment between business needs and data architecture to minimize risks and optimize efficiency.

Technical Profile Requirements:

• Strong expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
• Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.
• Experience with Cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and modern data warehousing technologies.
• Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of ArchiMate, BPMN, UML is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) in data-related projects.

Methodology/Certification Requirements:

• More than 5 years’ experience in a similar role as a Data Architect.
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.

Language Proficiencies:

• Excellent knowledge of French or Dutch, with the ability to follow conversations in the other language – English is a must-have.
