Role Description:

The Data Governance Expert will be part of the Center of Excellence (CoE) focusing on various streams such as Enterprise Data Modelling, Data Regulatory Affairs, Data Governance tools, Data Quality, and Data Privacy & Ethics. The role involves delivering data privacy and ethics services, assessing DPE-related risks, creating reports, proposing risk mitigation measures, and providing advisory services. The expert will also support data governance initiatives, ensure adherence to data governance frameworks, and serve as a point of escalation for data compliance issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver data privacy & ethics (DPE) services, including risk assessments and reports.
  • Propose and validate risk mitigation measures.
  • Provide DPE advisory and consultancy services.
  • Support data subject rights requests and manage potential incidents.
  • Develop and deliver data governance support for various initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, quality, modeling, and regulation frameworks.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for governance and compliance issues.
  • Work closely with business and functional leadership to improve data quality and value.
  • Deliver DPE and Data Governance support in the context of AI Regulation related requests.
  • Create process documentation and supporting materials for Data Privacy & Ethics and Data Governance processes.

Language Requirements:

  • Dutch: Native or Fluent
  • French: Native or Fluent
  • English: Fluent

Education:

Master’s degree in Law or Engineering. Candidates with other academic backgrounds with substantial knowledge of analytics are also encouraged to apply.

Certifications:

Data Protection Officer (GDPR) is an asset.

Required Experience/Knowledge:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical experience is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with process definition and writing (e.g., ARIS).
  • Familiarity with Archer eGRC tool, Rally - Agile, and SharePoint.
  • Risk Assessment/Management experience; compliance or audit experience is an asset.
  • Global awareness of Data protection and privacy principles (GDPR).
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Experience in cross-functional departments and teams.
  • Solid experience in Business/Functional Analysis in an enterprise environment.
  • Change Management experience.
  • Experience within the Banking and Finance Industry is preferred.
