Azure Data Platform Architect

Responsibilities:
Design and implement the future data platform on Azure, including:
Overall architecture
Data ingestion and transformation
Data storage and computation
Data consumption (Power BI is already deployed; data science/ML capability to be implemented)
Orchestration, alerts, and monitoring
Security and governance
CI/CD and automation
Define and document development standards for data and analytics engineers; provide guidance to the development team.
Define and implement a governance framework for the future data platform and ensure ongoing compliance.
Lead the migration of existing data products from the current platform to the future platform, including creating and executing the roadmap.
Contribute to the technology roadmap for the entire data landscape.

Required data architecture skills:
Strong architectural knowledge of Azure data and analytics services, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Power BI/Fabric.
Strong knowledge of security and compliance best practices for Azure data platforms.
Strong knowledge of Data Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture best practices for Azure Databricks.
Solid experience in data engineering/analytics with Python PySpark and dbt for Azure Databricks.
Strong knowledge of SQL and dimensional modelling.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to deploy Azure resources.
Good understanding of Git-based workflows and experience integrating Git with CI/CD pipelines for deploying data or infrastructure pipelines.
Ability to estimate and optimise cloud operating costs for relevant Azure services.
Experience in gathering non-functional requirements and using them to evaluate technical options and make architectural recommendations.
Desirable skills:
Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric
Experience with data governance processes and tools
Experience in data ingestion from SAP S/4 HANA
Knowledge of Agile practices (Scrum)
Expertise:
Proven successful experience in implementing Azure Databricks-based data platforms is required.
Languages:
Native French or Dutch
Good understanding (reading and listening) of the other national language and English (B1 or higher)
