For a client in Vlaams-Brabant, we are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer.

Start Date: End of July

Duration: Initially until the end of the year, with the possibility of extension

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, 3 days on-site, 2 days remote

Responsibilities:

• Design user-friendly web and mobile applications using modern front-end frameworks.
• Develop both simple and complex input and visualization screens based on business requirements.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, backend developers, project managers, domain experts, and business analysts.
• Establish and document UI/UX design principles and guidelines in cooperation with the global UI/UX team.
• Design user flows, low fidelity wireframes, and participate in creating user stories.
• Create high fidelity mock-ups and prototypes.
• Develop user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, customer feedback, and usability findings.
• Communicate effectively with product and engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to work independently and in a team context.
• Extensive experience in converting functional requirements into screen designs and user flows.
• Proven experience in creating designs and user flows in collaboration with product teams, business analysts, and engineering teams.
• Proficiency in creating mockups to enhance engineering team productivity.
• Strong ability to justify design and user flow decisions to various audiences.
• Excellent knowledge of UI/UX design patterns and the ability to share this knowledge with engineering teams.
• Experience in designing complex input and visualization screens with various data input and presentation components.
• Daily use of prototyping/design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Axure, Adobe CC, with a preference for Figma.
• Experience with web, mobile, and responsive design.
• Proven ability to create a consistent user experience and user stories.
• Experience in user research, user testing, and creating user personas.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Inquisitive and analytical mindset.
• Proven ability to work in a multicultural, multifunctional environment.
• Customer and end-user focused.
• Excellent oral and UX documenting skills.
• Conceptual thinking and ability to identify information gaps.
• Strong relationship-building skills and teamwork capabilities.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo).
• Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and CSS-based technologies.
• Familiarity with limitations of front-end frameworks such as Angular & React.
• Understanding of the entire web application development process.
• Awareness of micro front-end solutions.

Language Proficiency:

• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
• Dutch is a plus
