Description:

We are looking for a proactive data and energy enthusiast. The ideal candidate should have knowledge in the following areas:

• Data Mining and Processing: Proficiency in VBA, Excel, R, Python.
• Data Visualization: Experience with Tableau, PowerBI.
• Economic Dispatch Tools: Familiarity with ANTARES, PyPSA is a plus.
• Market Simulation: Previous experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, extend, and strengthen market modeling frameworks.
• Conduct critical analysis of grid data, such as PTDF, RAM, CNEC.
• Create automated or visual checks to assess the quality and validity of input data.
• Improve existing R/Python/VBA/Excel scripts for model building.
• Enhance code development tooling and processes, including repository and CI.
• Research and develop novel approaches for market studies.
• Execute large-scale market dispatch studies, including cost-benefit analysis and flow-based market dispatch analysis.

Requirements:

• Programming: Proficiency in R or Python is a must. Experience with both is highly desirable.
• Data Processing: Excel is essential; VBA is a nice-to-have.
• Economic Dispatch Software: Experience with ANTARES is beneficial.
• Software Development Tools: Familiarity with version control systems like Git, IDE environments such as RStudio, VSCode, and package management tools like pip is a plus.
• Other Requirements: Approximately 3-5 years of experience, knowledge of and interest in the energy market, fluency in French or Dutch, and English. Looking to invest in a team on the medium term where you could face challenging projects and grow your expertise.
