Senior Data Functional Analyst

Location: Brussels (Hybrid)

Role & Responsibilities:

• Engage regularly with business stakeholders, data teams, and subject matter experts to understand business needs.
• Identify, assess, and comprehend business processes, operational, and analytics data flows.
• Translate business needs into data and technical requirements.
• Design data architecture and validate data models in collaboration with Data Architects.
• Establish functional design for developments in collaboration with the Data Governance team, BI team Technical Leads, and ICT teams.
• Ensure alignment with GDPR and security requirements in collaboration with the DPO.
• Actively participate in testing developed data products.
• Post-delivery, inform and train users, and maintain liaison with end users for continuous improvement of data products.

Technical Skills Required:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of practical and professional experience in data functional analysis.
• Experience in data modeling (conceptual and logical) within a data warehouse context, preferably following the Kimball approach.
• Experience in designing and analyzing data flows.
• Prior experience as a data engineer is a plus.

Current Project:

As a Senior Data Functional Analyst, you will join a project aimed at improving the exchange and disability-related information between organizations for analytics needs. The project objectives include increasing data flow frequency and improving data quality. You will help set up a common modern data platform, define data quality processes, detailed controls, and technical specifications for developing a data quality validation engine.
