For a client, we are seeking a Back-end DevOps API Developer (Python/PostgreSQL).

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the backend of multi-tier applications using Python frameworks such as Flask and FastAPI.
• Implement message-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Design, manage, and optimize databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Oversee complete application lifecycle management, including requirements gathering from stakeholders and regular demos.
• Integrate backend solutions with frontend components.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide backend functionality for business needs.
• Mentor junior developers focusing on backend technologies and practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with backend development using Python, Flask, and FastAPI.
• Expertise in database management and optimization with PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in backend architecture design and deployment.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka.
• Ability to take project ownership, including gathering requirements and backend implementation.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based backend deployments.
• Experience working on data-centric backend applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

The mission involves developing new IT services (API, applications, etc.) around a central Data Hub platform as part of an ambitious transformation program. The successful candidate will evolve the Python/PostgreSQL application for Data Governance, Know Your Data (KYD). The goal is to create an API that exposes data from KYD to other applications and receives data from other applications. The role requires close collaboration with developers of the KYD & Falcon applications and other application developers.
