Business Analyst Job Description

General Description:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for translating business requirements and processes into detailed structured documentation. This role may also involve preparing financing requests for changes to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of business processes and systems, with expertise in some areas. An understanding of current technology advances and ServiceNow platform capabilities is essential. The role primarily involves working on the analysis phase of projects and may include working independently on small-scale standard projects. Support in the preparation and execution of testing is also required.

Role:

As part of the ServiceNow Center of Excellence, the Business Analyst will contribute to delivering new systems or modifications to existing systems through business analysis. Key responsibilities include:

• Understanding the needs of internal and/or external clients, primarily through interviews.
• Identifying, describing, and validating business solutions to meet end users’ requirements.
• Documenting business requirements in a structured format for translation into functional and technical specifications.
• Considering non-functional requirements such as equipment capacity, operating time, and desired results.
• Evaluating the implications of technology on the current business environment.
• Assessing how automated functions integrate into business and IT processes.
• Assisting in determining which requirements should be automated and how these functions integrate into business and IT processes.
• Facilitating communication between business units and IT communities.
• Focusing on documentation required from analysis for projects or incremental changes.
• Providing support during execution testing phases, projects, and maintenance.
