Senior Data Functional Analyst

Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Regime: Full-time, 2 days on-site

Location: Brussels

Languages: Dutch and French (other language at least B2 level) + English

Role & Responsibilities:

• Engage regularly with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into data and technical requirements.
• Design data architecture and models in collaboration with Data Architects.
• Establish functional designs in collaboration with the Data Governance team, BI team Technical Leads, and ICT teams.
• Ensure alignment with GDPR and security requirements in collaboration with the DPO.
• Play an active role in testing and validating developed data products.
• Responsible for delivering Business Requirements Document, Functional Analysis Document, Technical Analysis, and Test Plan.
• Post-delivery, inform and train users, and maintain liaison with end users for product improvement.

Technical Skills Required:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in data functional analysis.
• Experience in data modeling within a data warehouse context, preferably using the Kimball approach.
• Experience in designing and analyzing data flows.
• Familiarity with MS SQL Server, MS SSIS, MS SSAS, Enterprise Architect or similar, SAS, Azure, PowerBI, DataBricks, Azure Data Factory.
• Prior experience as a data engineer is a plus.

Project Overview:

• Act as the technical and architectural owner of the Data Validation Engine.
• Collect and align business requirements for the Data Validation Engine with users and stakeholders.
• Design the Software Architecture of the Validation Engine and translate it into technical specifications.
• Post-project, act as Application Owner for the Validation Engine.
