Senior System Administrator

Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Regime: Full-time, 2 days per week in the office

Location: Brussels 

Languages: Fluent in Dutch or French with a solid understanding of the other language, and good command of written and spoken technical English

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior System Administrator to join our growing and dynamic team. As a Senior System Administrator, you will contribute to the management, supervision, and optimization of system infrastructures, including hardware and software aspects. You will play a key role in the development of our new infrastructure, while maintaining and improving the existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain, and upgrade existing and future system infrastructures.
• Configure, deploy, and administer operating systems and systems software.
• Ensure the security and availability of systems and data.
• Collaborate with the development and infrastructure teams to ensure the consistency and performance of the environment.
• Solve complex systems problems and suggest improvements.
• Carry out and/or supervise installation and maintenance tasks.
• Write and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Participate in the development of the technological evolution strategy for solutions.
• Adapt models, systems, and infrastructure to changing needs.
• Contribute as a team player while also being capable of working independently.
• Take responsibility for assigned tasks, assess risks appropriately, and seek guidance when necessary.
• Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to self-learning and development.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a System Administrator.
• At least 3 years of experience managing operating systems (Windows, Linux) and system software.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and associated management tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with practices and technologies relating to microservices-oriented infrastructure is advantageous.

Profile Description:

• Bachelor's degree or 3 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Analytical mindset with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to technical challenges and/or incidents.
• In-depth understanding of mobile telecommunication technologies.
• Curious and enthusiastic to learn.
• Discrete and stress-resistant.

Desired Skills:

• Confirmed experience as an IT System Administrator.
• Junior level experience with Linux, software systems, and Windows.
• Active knowledge of English, passive knowledge of Dutch and French.
