IT Support Specialist

Location: Antwerp
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain various computer systems, focusing on the associated computerized peripheral equipment used during the production process.
- Provide expert advice for administration, maintenance, and problem-solving of computer systems and peripheral equipment.
- Collaborate closely with production operators and provide support.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users of peripheral equipment and assist them with software and hardware issues.
- Install and configure qualified business-critical peripherals for plant use, ensuring integration with MES and other systems.
- Manage and troubleshoot interfaced peripherals with systems such as ERP (SAP), MES (Werum, Pas-X), DCS (Emerson DeltaV), Data Historian (OsiSoft PI), and LIMS (BioLIMS).
- Handle operational tasks, changes, and activities like MES user management and periodic data verification.
- Plan and perform maintenance activities.
- Manage and maintain MES, including configuring new thin clients and printers as requested by operators.
- Coach and train operators to enable them to perform initial troubleshooting and repairs independently.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of peripheral equipment, including barcode scanners, label printers, PDAs, thin clients (Dell-Wyse), serial-to-IP devices, laptops, and PCs.
- Proficient in Microsoft operating systems, such as Windows 7 and Windows 10.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory and its practical application.
- Basic knowledge of IT service management and networking.
- IT Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with an interest in managing peripheral equipment.
- Experience in a similar environment or assignment.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Ability to work independently.
