Position Purpose:

As a VBA Development Engineer, you will join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team. The goal of the mission is to review and analyze a large number of Excel-based tools that utilize Excel VBA Macros to support operational teams. You will create comprehensive technical documentation for each tool to facilitate maintenance and potential migration to a more future-proof language.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze existing Excel-based shadow IT tools to understand their functionality, workflow, and technical architecture.
• Perform reverse-engineering of VBA macros to identify key components, data flows, and business logic.
• Create detailed technical documentation for each tool, including functional and technical descriptions, VBA code explanations, and user interface and user experience descriptions.
• Collaborate with operational teams to validate the accuracy and completeness of the technical documentation.
• Identify potential technical debt, security risks, and performance issues in the existing VBA macros and document recommendations for improvement.
• Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to ensure that the technical documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and useful for maintenance and potential migration efforts.

Technical Competencies:

• VBA Excel Expert, familiar with Excel VBA Editor.
• Reverse-engineering ability.
• Redaction of technical and functional documentation.
• SQL Server at medium or expert level.

Specific Qualifications & Behavioral Competencies:

• Knowledge of IAM and RBAC methodology is a plus.
• Knowledge of French or Dutch is preferred.
• Decent knowledge of English is mandatory.
