For a client in Vlaams-Brabant, we are seeking a part-time UX/UI Expert.

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 01/03/2026 (with the possibility of an extension until 30/06/2027)

Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite and 1 day per week remote.

Responsibilities:

Design Governance & Coordination:

• Act as the guardian of UX consistency across all modules and releases.
• Co-create with the offshore UI/UX team to align patterns, flows, and component usage into one cohesive experience.
• Ensure that new components or layouts fit the agreed design language and interaction model.
• Provide structured feedback loops to design and development teams to maintain coherence.
• Regularly report to the Program Manager and stakeholders on UX quality, usability risks, and design alignment.

User Experience Quality & Continuous Improvement:

• Monitor design outputs to ensure that every feature is functionally intuitive and visually coherent.
• Review prototypes and mockups before handover to development, ensuring compliance with the design system.
• Facilitate joint design reviews with the partner’s team to capture lessons learned and refine the shared design system.
• Encourage continuous UX refinement based on usability findings and evolving user needs.

Collaboration & Validation:

• Work in true co-creation with the supplier’s UI/UX team — not supervising, but building together.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and QA to ensure user journeys match business intent and testing scenarios.
• Validate that the delivered UI behaves as intended across devices, user roles, and contexts.
• Drive alignment between brand identity, accessibility standards, and functional requirements.
• Champion “functionally beautiful” design — where aesthetics serve usability and user delight.

• Proactive in maintaining and evolving a shared design system with partners.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills within design systems.
• Familiar with Figma, UX documentation standards, and Agile delivery cycles.

Languages:

• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch/French is a plus.
• Experience in international and multicultural product teams is an advantage.
