Senior IT Project Manager
Location: Brussels
Work Regime: Full-time, 2 office days per week
Start Date: 17/11/2025
Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of project proposals or plans, determining timeframe, budget, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource assignments.
- Define overall project governance, organization, deliverable scope, and associated responsibilities.
- Oversee business, technical, organizational, management, and financial aspects of the project.
- Regularly report project progress at all levels, including senior management and/or the sponsor/client.
- Challenge and negotiate changes in project specifications or scope with the project sponsor/client as required.
- Coordinate a team of specialists to implement project tasks.
- Act as the interface and facilitator between the project sponsor/customer and various IT services involved in the project.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers with the support of specialized teams.
- Analyze requirements with the project sponsor/customer and support from Enterprise Architect/Application Architects to evaluate project feasibility.
- Lead projects requiring the ability to deal with changes and instability in project management processes, strategy, and frameworks.
- Present the project convincingly and win buy-in from the sponsor/client, possibly using support from business or technical subject matter experts.
- Regularly lead improvement initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers at the project level.
- Performance and achievements are subject to periodic review against targets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong leadership skills to direct staff and resolve issues ensuring project goals and requirements are met on time and with quality.
- Good business and technical understanding gained over several infrastructure and application development projects.
- Interpersonal skills to influence decisions taken with the project sponsor/client.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in complex environments with regulatory and organizational constraints.
- Ability to lead projects of unusual size, timeframe, or complexity.
- Proficiency in English.
