For a client we are seeking a Senior Software Solutions Engineer.

This hybrid role requires 50% onsite presence in Diegem.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for new and existing software solutions.
• Align development efforts with business strategies and objectives.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy internal applications using modern programming languages and technologies.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and system enhancements.
• Monitor, maintain, and improve existing applications for performance, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and deliver efficient solutions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices.
• Share knowledge, contribute to team development, and help refine workflows.
• Work closely with IT, business departments, and leadership to achieve common goals.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Co-create technical and user documentation and provide training on internal tools.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proficiency in SQL and RPG ILE (Free), including embedded SQL.
• Experience with IBM Rational Developer and IBM Data Studio.
• Familiarity with VSCode, XML/JSON, and MS Office.
• Understanding of communication methods on I-Series: MQ Series, FTP, DDM, IFS.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of RPG400 or older.
• Experience with Webservices/SOAP and IBM APIs.
• Familiarity with ARCAD or other software change management systems.
• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Full Stack Development and Java Development skills are a plus.
