Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer with expertise in business intelligence (BI) and data analytics to develop high-performance digital solutions within a manufacturing environment. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement data pipelines and visualizations, ensuring sustainability, data integrity, availability, and security of digital solutions. The position supports strategic business initiatives, improves manufacturing processes, and optimizes supply chain operations to enhance overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data pipelines using MS Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and SQL.
- Integrate data from SAP ERP, MES, and enterprise sources ensuring high quality and security.
- Develop scripts in Python & SQL for data processing and automation.
- Support BI efforts with MS Power BI, Tableau, and other visualization capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance throughout processes, standards, and methodologies.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data models for analytics and reporting using real-time or near real-time data streaming, E2E intelligence solutions.
- Stay current on emerging data technologies and recommend tools and best practices.
- Apply advanced data management techniques to aggregate & disaggregate insights dynamically, facilitating granular levels of reporting.
- Clearly document & organize data flow mapping, ensuring data lineage, storage, process, dependencies, integrity & governance are maintained.
- Draft technical documentation, training materials, project presentations & organize COP.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; an Advanced Degree is strongly preferred. Fields such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Engineering, or Computer Science are required.
- At least 5-8 years of post-academic work/industry experience is required.
- Process knowledge about the manufacturing environment is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Data Modeling (Azure, Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Databricks) is required.
- Experience in integrating real-time data streaming.
- Proficiency in complex data transformation (SQL, Python, R) is required.
- Understanding of Data Models, MDM, Data Governance frameworks, integrating diverse data sources & building self-service analytics platforms is required.
- Experience in data flow mapping & advanced data visualization tools: MS Fabric, MS Power BI, and Tableau.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP & MES System.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and strong data management skills are required.
- Attention to detail and extensive experience in aggregating data and formulating insights is required.
- Proven leadership ability & driver of cross-functional collaboration is required.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, particularly in presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders, is required.
- Effective project coordination skills with experience handling multiple projects simultaneously is required.
- Strong intuition to proactively identify current problems & gaps to effectively minimize future maintenance is required.
- Results-oriented, with a strong demonstration of translating business strategy into business insights is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in Agile development and project management, with knowledge of JIRA, SDLC methodology, risk management including information security.
- Fluency in English & Dutch is required.
