Location: Brussels & remote

Description of the function:

You participate in the digital transformation of the Integrated Police. To be ready for today's and tomorrow's challenges, several new tools and technologies need to be implemented, taking into account security requirements. You work in a multidisciplinary team as an expert analyst programmer Business Intelligence with the following tasks:

Need analysis:

Having conversations with users, managers and stakeholders.
Determining the information needs and translating business questions into BI requirements.

Data modeling & process analysis:

Designing logical and conceptual dimensional data models.
Mapping business processes and checking data quality.

Functional design:

Drawing up functional specifications and documentation.
Collaborate with developers to translate functional needs into technical solutions.

BI development:

Formatting and testing of BI reports and dashboards.
Guiding the implementation and monitoring of issues.

Communication & guidance:

Explain BI solutions to non-technical users.
Training and supporting end users in reporting tools.

Optimization & innovation:

Signaling opportunities for improvement in data and reporting.
Advising on new BI options or tools.

Background and requirements:

Informatics background or a master with relevant specialization and / or work experience in computer science.
At least 5 years of experience with Datawarehouse / Business Intelligence projects.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
Basic knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects and experience with Microsoft Power BI Report Server.
Knowledge of and experience with modeling business processes in BPMN or UML.
Knowledge of relational databases and experience with SQL.
Knowledge of DAX, with bonus knowledge of Python and / or R.
Very good control of standard Microsoft tools.
Fluent in Dutch and / or French and good passive knowledge of the other national language, with bonus knowledge of English.
