Senior Data Modeling Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling Design
- Coordinate and act as an expert for defining data modeling standards and best practices related to star schema modeling tailored to the Energy Retail business.
- Design logical and physical data models to support integration from CRM, billing, and other operational systems.
- Utilize modeling tools like DB Schema to document and maintain star schema tables and relationship modeling.
- Data Modeling Development
- Coordinate and participate in the creation of data models according to defined standards and best practices.
- Work with ETL tools (e.g., Databricks, Dataiku) to transform data according to specifications.
- Document development according to best practices.
- Ensure models are optimized for performance, cost, scalability, and usability across BI and data science use cases.
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to understand the structure of data ingested in Databricks.
- Partner with business and data stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into modeling solutions.
- Support data governance and quality initiatives by ensuring models reflect business rules and definitions.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- SQL: Senior level (8-10 years of experience).
- Databricks: Confirmed level (3-5 years of experience).
- Retail-centric industry experience: Advanced level (5-8 years of experience).
- Teamwork: Advanced level (5-8 years of experience).
- Data modeling within warehousing: Senior level (8-10 years of experience).
Desired Skills:
- Expertise in data modeling standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in using modeling tools like DB Schema.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Databricks and Dataiku.
- Strong collaboration skills with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to support data governance and quality initiatives.
