Project Manager Data & Migration
Role Overview
The Project Manager for Data & Migration will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all data migration activities within a strategic transformation programme. This role is critical to ensuring the successful transition from legacy systems to an integrated SAP S/4HANA landscape. The Project Manager will operate on the programme’s critical path, managing strict timelines, dependencies, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Governance
- Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for all data migration workstreams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with governance and reporting standards.
- Data Migration Execution
- Oversee end-to-end migration activities across multiple cycles (planning, extraction, transformation, loading, validation).
- Coordinate with technical teams on ETL processes, SAP S/4 upload mechanisms, and data quality assurance.
- Manage dependencies between functional and technical streams, ensuring readiness for each go-live phase.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for data migration topics.
- Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders to validate data scope and requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues to programme leadership and impacted business units.
- Risk & Quality Management
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, migration timelines, and system readiness.
- Ensure robust testing and validation processes are in place for migrated data.
- Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned across migration cycles.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing data migration projects in large-scale ERP implementations (preferably SAP S/4HANA).
- Strong knowledge of data governance, ETL tools, and migration methodologies.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource coordination.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, hybrid environments, and integration frameworks.
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile are highly desirable.

Work Location
