Mission Context:
We are looking for an experienced Financial/Cost Controller to join the Finance department. The Management Control Cost Functions team is responsible for providing expertise in the area of the bank’s costs, focusing on both business and transversal views. Key responsibilities include the analysis and preparation of monthly closings, budgets, and forecasts.
Function Description:
The Cost Controller will be part of a team responsible for the bank’s main Support Functions. The role involves active participation in the preparation and analysis of monthly/quarterly closing processes, budgeting, and forecasting for specific segments. Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and validating financial data, providing reports and explanations, and ensuring cost predictability.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly closings for costs, adhering to deadlines and central instructions.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, maintaining communication with key stakeholders and understanding cost drivers.
- Conduct necessary reconciliations and ensure the quality of reported numbers.
- Support data sourcing, validate figures, and structure data into user-friendly formats.
- Provide explanations for the evolution of numbers.
- Ensure effective communication with other departments and provide guidance on figures.
- Implement improvement initiatives for data collection, handling, and presentation.
- Ensure specific deliverables are met.
Language Requirements:
- Dutch: Fluent
- French: Fluent
- English: Good
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics or similar qualification.
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in performance management.
- Mandatory technical experience in bank accounting, accounting and financial reporting, and strong MS Office (Excel) skills.
- Knowledge of SAP tool is preferable.
- Mandatory business experience in financial analysis and a strong interest in business responsibilities.
- Experience in a banking environment is preferable.
