Test Specialist (Medior Level)

Responsibilities:

• Execute Sanity/Regression testing.
• Design and execute tests for new changes and projects.
• Handle ad hoc requests from the Problem & Change Analyst for system/process behavior analysis.
• Log and follow up on defects in the test tool (MF ALM QC) and adhere to defect management procedures.
• Retest defects upon bug fix delivery and document test results in the test logging tool.
• Log and follow up on incidents in the test environment using the ITSM tool (Topdesk).
• Report to the Test Coordinator and interact with the test team lead for daily activities.
• Be adaptable to different domains, open to new challenges, and willing to share knowledge within the team.
• Utilize MF ALM QC for defect management and reporting, and a semi-automated custom test tool, Hammer, based on SOAP UI for message exchange testing.
• Possess basic SQL knowledge to use existing queries; ability to write simple and moderate complexity queries is a plus.
• Read technical design documents (If, then, Else language).
• Experience with agile testing is a plus; necessary training should be foreseen if lacking.
• Maintain a critical view on product quality, especially for integration with the main branch.
• Work with both waterfall and agile test approaches.
• Organize knowledge sharing sessions within the SAT test team.
• Act proactively and provide feedback on test-related topics such as progress, issues, risks, and team-related topics.
• Participate actively in alignment meetings, including daily stand-ups and defect follow-up meetings.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Test Specialist (3 years, Medior level).
• Experience in writing test scenarios and using formal test methods and techniques.
• ISTQB Foundation level certificate or higher.
• Proven experience in the Belgian energy sector, particularly MIG-DGO/MIG6.
• Experience in Energy Flows (Pre-Allocation, Allocation, Reconciliation, ReconOfComp) (2 years, Junior level).
• Experience with logging defects in ALM QC and follow-up.
• Experience with SOAP/UI (6 years, Senior level).
• Experience with technical design documents (If, then, Else language).
• Knowledge of SQL for query execution (6 years, Senior level).
• Proficiency in Dutch or French at European CEFR level C1.
• Experience as a tester in Agile/Scrum projects.
• Experience in writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology, preferably in testing.
• General usage of Topdesk.
