Job Listing: Senior SCADA Software Engineers

Job Context:
Join a dynamic development team responsible for a business-critical SCADA system operating 24/7 to maintain power balance across Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. The team aims to expand the geographical scope and integrate smaller, flexible assets. The tools developed support real-time control of power plants, integrate flexibility assets, and comply with European grid codes to aid the energy transition.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the SCADA X (Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA X) system.
- Work on both front-end and back-end development using SCIL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Apply architectural design principles to build scalable and robust solutions.
- Implement software craftsmanship principles (SOLID, DRY, KISS, YAGNI) for clean, maintainable, and resilient code.
- Collaborate in an Agile/SAFe® environment with analysts, dispatchers, and technical teams.
- Contribute to on-call support to ensure system availability and grid stability.
Requested Profile:
- Master's degree in IT and/or electrical engineering (e.g., software, electronics, or electromechanics).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Industrial mindset with a high level of software engineering skills.
- Understanding of electricity production and grid transport basics.
- Proactive and structured approach to work, ensuring stability in a high-responsibility environment.
- Solution-driven with a sense of responsibility for tasks.
- Motivated to work in a team responsible for real-time activities.
- Team player in complex project organizations with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic programming languages and cybersecurity principles in ICS and OT environments.
Technical Skills:
- SCIL developments for the backend.
- Web development for the front-end (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Version control and CI/CD implementation (supported by GitHub).
Place of Work and Office Hours:
- Minimum presence in the office of 3 days per week required; remote work allowed for the remaining days, depending on assignments.
- Flexible hours with a workday starting no later than 09:00 and ending no earlier than 16:00.
