Description:
Our client is entering a critical phase in its product transformation journey. To support this transition, they are strengthening their transformation team with two senior, complementary expert profiles: one Product Manager and one Product Transformation Manager. While both roles operate within the same product transformation program and share a common foundation in product management excellence, they differ in focus and primary accountabilities. Both experts will act as trusted advisors and embedded partners to the business.
Common Mission (Both Roles):
- Be fully embedded in the transformation team.
- Act as sparring partners for business leadership (directors, managers, product leads, and owners).
- Support the implementation and adoption of the Product Operating Model (POM).
- Coach product leaders and teams with a strong emphasis on continuous product discovery.
- Translate strategic objectives into concrete, team-level execution.
- Facilitate alignment across stakeholders (business, chapters, Agile, learning, etc.).
- Surface systemic blockers and actively contribute to their resolution.
- Model hands-on product leadership behaviors rather than operate as external advisors.
Profile 1 – Product Transformation Expert
Primary Focus: Organisation design & transformation blueprint
This role focuses on designing and shaping the target organisation in line with the Product Operating Model and guiding the business through the structural aspects of the transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the organisation blueprint.
- Conduct research to deeply understand the current organisation and validate assumptions.
- Advise on organisation design using empirical insights and market best practices.
- Lead initiatives and pilots to evolve organisation structures, roles, and governance.
- Support leadership during snapshot and deployment phases of the transformation.
- Ensure organisational clarity in roles, responsibilities, and decision rights.
- Product leadership & coaching.
Profile 2 – Product Management Expert
Primary Focus: Operationalisation, adoption & centre of excellence
This role focuses on making product management work in practice, ensuring that the operating model is effectively adopted and sustained in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose gaps between current practices and the target POM.
- Embed practical product management tools, frameworks, and routines into teams.
- Establish reporting and execution cadences linking delivery to strategic objectives.
- Coach product leaders through shadowing, real-time feedback, and co-creation.
- Support the incubation of a Product Management Centre of Excellence.
- Contribute to upskilling tracks through training, peer learning, and product seminars.
- Formalise product management practices through documentation and playbooks.
- Product Leadership Coaching.
Key Competencies & Experience (Shared):
- Deep mastery of product discovery, delivery, and prioritisation.
- Proven track record in multi-quarter product or operating model transformations.
- Strong coaching capability with senior leaders in complex change environments.
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on credibility: models behaviors before expecting adoption.
- Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous contexts.
- Experience in regulated, engineering-driven environments is a strong asset.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in product leadership, product management, and/or transformation roles.
- Fluent in English and French or Dutch.
