Scrum Master

Mission Context:
The Scrum Master is a pivotal role in projects utilizing an agile framework, specifically the Scrum methodology. The individual will ensure the project team's comprehensive understanding of the methodology and assist in maximizing project outcomes. The Scrum Master will protect the team from internal and external distractions and ensure the proper application of Agile Methodology, coaching the project team, business lines, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Retrospective) and other meetings.
- Schedule and follow key steps of the methodology.
- Ensure smooth use of the Scrum methodology and assist the squad in overcoming obstacles.
- Provide support to the Product Owner concerning the Product Backlog.
- Assist the team in delivering the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, etc.
- Track team capacity and velocity metrics for planning and progress purposes.
- Coach and challenge the squad, promoting gradual self-organization.
- Remove barriers to team effectiveness and protect the team from outside distractions.
- Act as an ambassador of agile methods within the company.
- Report to the chapter lead on the deployment of the Scrum methodology within projects.
- Manage risks and issues.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in English and at least one local language (Dutch or French).
Education:
Master’s degree or equivalent.
Telework Expectation:
50% on-site and 50% homeworking.
Agile Requirements:
Agile teams are cross-functional, with all required disciplines represented (analysis, development, testing, etc.). Team members are expected to take on various roles to achieve the sprint goal.
Required Experience/Knowledge:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g., Jira).
- Understanding of automated unit testing, automated functional testing, and continuous integration tooling.
- Sound knowledge of software development and project management methodologies.
Business Experience:
- Expert knowledge of agile methodology and techniques (e.g., Kanban).
- Preferable experience in delivery management and working in large organizations.
