Technical Owner for Gas Flow Management (GFM) Product
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Duration: Initially 6 months, with the intention to extend long-term
Location: Brussels, with onsite presence required 3 days per week and the remainder in homeworking
About the Role:
As a Technical Owner, you will act as the technical counterpart to the Product Owner, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, feasible, and scalable solutions. You will provide technical leadership, guide architecture and design decisions, and ensure alignment with internal standards and product vision. You will be accountable for the end-to-end technical health of the product, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, team members, and technical stakeholders to ensure the product evolves in a robust and sustainable way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and safeguard the product’s technical health, architecture, and long-term maintainability.
- Ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, secure, and aligned with architectural standards.
- Guide the team in translating product requirements into technical designs, system interactions, and backlog items.
- Mentor and coach team members on technical decisions specific to the product landscape or cross-product standards.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to plan delivery and support the team in meeting the definition of done.
- Facilitate resolution of technical bottlenecks, risks, and technical debt.
- Actively engage with internal technical stakeholders to align on technical enablers, constraints, and cross-product integration.
- Contribute to product budget discussions with the Product Owner by providing input on technical feasibility, priorities, and trade-offs.
- Promote knowledge sharing, consistency, and best practices across the team and, when relevant, across products.
Skills & Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with the GSmart technical stack, including .NET (.NET 8 / .NET Framework), ASP.NET Web API, SQL Server / Oracle, messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ), and modern DevOps tools (Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines).
- Solid understanding of software architecture, system integration patterns, and maintainable system design, with the ability to translate product needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience performing technical analysis and system modeling (e.g., information models, interface contracts, UML diagrams) to support clear and structured implementations.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, enabling effective collaboration between developers, analysts, architects, and product stakeholders.
- Ability to coach and guide team members on technical approaches, conventions, and practices within the product landscape.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on knowledge sharing, constructive feedback, and collective ownership within the team.
- Ability to balance delivery needs with long-term product sustainability, helping teams make pragmatic technical decisions.
- Fluency in English, with a good command of French or Dutch, and willingness to improve the other language.
