System Integration Engineer
Start Date: 01/04/2026
Duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension

Location: Leuven
Responsibilities:
- Develop hardware and software systems for data generation or performance demonstration of advanced technology.
- Integrate mechanical design, embedded systems, data acquisition, and software applications into a functional setup.
- Collaborate with experts in optics, electronics, chip design, and AI.
- Design and identify components, working with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Create concepts, manage requirements, identify and mitigate risks, and verify the system.
- Support a broad range of research activities and applications, including health, computing, automotive, and space.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering domain.
- At least 5 years of experience in hardware development.
- Proficient in working with experts from various fields and managing integration into a single setup.
- Ability to work closely with researchers to formulate hardware needs and requirements.
- Experience in working with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Ability to deliver commitments in a fast-moving and innovative environment.
- Fluent in English and capable of working in a highly international environment.
