Technical Business/Functional Analyst

For a client, we are seeking a Technical Business/Functional Analyst to support the transformation of operational management tools. We are looking for a proactive individual who can bridge the gap between business (PO/Stakeholders) and development teams (Agile Scrum) and is willing to take on a varied set of tasks within the team.

Location: Brussel

On-site Requirement: At least 2 days per week (fixed days: Tuesday & Wednesday)

Key Responsibilities

The Technical Business Analyst will assume the following responsibilities:

• Proactively analyze and document business needs and user stories within Confluence.
• Translate validated business requirements into clear, concise, and comprehensive functional specifications, ensuring alignment with initial requests.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams (developers, architects) to ensure that functional design accurately reflects business needs and is technically viable.
• Analyze, challenge, and optimize existing business processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improvement.
• Participate actively in IT deliverables testing by developing test cases and validating solutions against established requirements.
• Provide critical support during diagnosis, analysis, and resolution of anomalies discovered during testing and post-implementation phases.
• Document optimized business processes using appropriate modeling tools (e.g., Bizzdesign), and contribute to the maintenance of the organizational process library.
• Assist with “Run” preparation activities to facilitate a seamless transition of solutions into operational use.
• Play an integral role in project closure activities, including the documentation of lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR standards as they pertain to the project scope.
• Proactively identify, assess, and communicate potential risks to the project manager throughout the build and run phases, and recommend mitigation strategies.

Profile Requirements

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in a Business Analyst role, with proven expertise in agile development and direct engagement with development teams.
• Demonstrated experience in:
  • Data integration and API flows
  • Data migration activities, including dry runs
  • Technical testing and validation
  • Working within multicultural environments and remote teams

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex technical and functional requirements, as well as current business processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to critically evaluate existing documentation and processes.
• Experience preparing:
  • Business cases
  • Requirements documentation
  • Test plans and scenarios
  • Project planning and budgeting
• Familiarity with GDPR and safety compliance regulations.
• Comfortable operating within multidisciplinary technical teams.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.

Tools & Methodologies

• Proficiency with documentation and modeling tools (e.g., Confluence, Bizzdesign).
• Mandatory experience with Agile methodologies.
