Senior Project Manager Position
For a client we are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a long-term program. The successful candidate will work closely with the program manager and core delivery team, managing the end-to-end roll-out, data migration, and related operational domains. This assignment spans 3-4 years, focusing on a phased roll-out across the organization.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage project activities to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within the approved scope, time, and budget.
- Oversee technology and business projects for a specific business unit.
- Manage an international team through different phases of the project lifecycle.
- Elevate technology systems capabilities to meet business needs by leveraging emerging technologies.
- Manage internal and external systems/application development projects from inception to successful implementation.
- Handle project stakeholders, scope, cost, schedule, procurement, risk, communication, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Management: Map and manage stakeholders across impacted business organizations and other involved parties.
- Scope Management: Ensure project goals align with business objectives and manage project scope through Change Management processes.
- Cost Management: Estimate workload, monitor budget using Earned Value Management, and define actions to stay within cost baseline.
- Schedule Management: Develop project strategies, establish work plans, and monitor progress against plans.
- Procurement Management: Coordinate procurement activities and assess vendor performance.
- Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, and control project risks.
- Communication Management: Develop communication plans, review status reports, and resolve project issues.
- Quality Management: Develop and direct quality assurance testing and ensure project deliverables meet business needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven ability to manage internal and external development projects from inception to implementation.
- Solid understanding of the software development process and project management methodologies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and solve dynamic problems.
- Ability to apply PMI practices and manage projects in parallel.
Desirable Skills:
- Understanding of current technologies, including Web enterprise servers, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Unix, Perl, TCP/IP, SQL, Oracle, and various Web tools.
- Familiarity with project methods such as Waterfall and Agile.
- Technical proficiency in hardware and systems software.
- Ability to develop and deliver projects using leading-edge technology.
Additional Information:
Minimum 60% presence required on-site.
