Business Analyst – Publications, Approvals & Patent Applications

The Assignment:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to publication processes, approval workflows, and patent application systems.

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), including user story writing, backlog management, acceptance criteria definition, and DoD/DoR practices.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Brief and translate to key development partners for build.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder discussions to align on requirements and priorities.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of solutions.
  • Support project management activities including planning, tracking progress, and managing risks and dependencies.
  • Design and execute test plans, coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Analyze and manage data related to publications and patent applications, ensuring data integrity and usability.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Maintain documentation including process flows, system diagrams, and requirement specifications.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in environments involving publications, approvals, or intellectual property/patent processes.

  • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and tools (e.g., user stories, process mapping, requirement documentation).
  • Solid technical acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with development teams.
  • Experience with project management principles and tools (Agile/Scrum experience is a plus).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with workflow automation tools or document management systems.

  • Knowledge of data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Agile methodologies.

  • Location: Flexibility to work both from our office premises and remotely from home, with an onsite presence of 3 days a week required. It is not possible to work 100% remote.
