Temporary Product Owner Position

For a client, we are seeking a temporary Product Owner for a period of approximately 6 to 12 months. The role is within a highly specialized and complex domain: aviation weight & balance and aircraft loading software.

Role Overview:

We are in need of an experienced interim Product Owner who can bring structure, clarity, and process discipline into a dynamic and evolving environment. The candidate will not need to be an aviation expert from the start but must be capable of:

• Bringing order to product management and development processes.
• Proactively creating structure and prioritization.
• Organizing and maintaining a clear roadmap and backlog.
• Facilitating collaboration between business and R&D.
• Assisting in the administrative processes from request to delivery.
• Enabling and empowering the Director of Aviation to focus on substantive domain expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Aviation and the Manager R&D.
• Stabilize the organization and introduce structure.
• Professionalize the way of working around product management and development.
• Improve collaboration across teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Product Owner in software product environments.
• Strong organizational capability and leadership style.
• Ability to create calm and direction in complex technical organizations.
• Affinity with operationally critical systems is beneficial but not required.

Desired Skills:

• Excellent stakeholder management and process organization skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving and chaotic environment.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.

This interim role is primarily intended to stabilize the organization and improve the way of working, with a longer-term vision of moving towards a more permanent setup.
