Description:
We are seeking a skilled HRIS Data Migration Specialist to lead the end-to-end migration of HR data from SAP R/3 HCM (PA/OM/Time/PY) to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and S/4HANA Time. This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, compliance, and operational continuity during the HRIS transformation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Migration Planning & Strategy:
- Define and document the data migration strategy & plan aligned with the SF EC and S/4HANA HCM rollout.
- Establish data selection principles aligned with legal, regulatory, works council, information security, and GDPR requirements.
- Develop the data object inventory and field-level mapping specifications.
- Define archiving and defensible data destruction approaches for out-of-scope or redundant data, with audit trails and approvals.
- Set up governance: RACI, decision rights, issue/risk management, status reporting, and executive-ready progress dashboards.
- Collaborate with HR & IT and business stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and dependencies.
Data Discovery & Mapping:
- Inventory source systems, objects, infotypes, tables, and custom fields; determine target structures in SuccessFactors and S/4HANA.
- Lead the data mapping and transformation logic definition, including value mapping, code translations, derived fields, joins, historical vs. current snapshots, and effective dating.
- Produce mapping specifications and governed transformation rules for all in-scope data sets.
Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL):
- Use data conversion tools to set up the data mapping, data comparison, and load the data from the source to target systems.
- Build repeatable, parameterized ETL/ELT pipelines for extract, cleanse, transform, and load.
- Extract legacy data from SAP R/3 HCM modules.
- Cleanse, transform, and map data to SuccessFactors EC and S/4HANA HCM structures.
- Use SAP Business Integration Builder, SAP Cloud Platform Integration, and data migration tools for replication and transformation.
- Implement data quality rules, exception handling, logging, and reconciliation checks.
Mock Loads & Data Quality Uplift:
- Plan and run multiple mock loads across environments; track defects, root causes, and trend improvements.
- Drive data cleansing at source and within transformation layers; establish golden source decisions and survivorship rules for consolidated records.
- Produce data quality scorecards and measurable KPIs.
- Manage cutover dry-runs, timing simulations, and performance tuning for load windows.
Testing & Controls:
- Define and execute E2E testing for migration objects: unit tests, SIT, UAT support, and parallel run/payroll impact checks where relevant.
- Support User Acceptance Testing and parallel runs to ensure data accuracy.
- Implement reconciliation and sign-off controls with business owners.
- Ensure privacy-by-design and security-by-design throughout.
Cutover & Hypercare:
- Build and execute the Cutover Plan for go-live, including freeze windows, sequencing, runbook, roles, checkpoints, back-out criteria, and communications.
- Orchestrate go-live weekend activities, triage, and rapid defect resolution with functional and technical teams.
- Deliver hypercare reconciliation, issue remediation, and handover to operations/support with documentation and knowledge transfer.
Documentation & Governance:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of mappings, transformation logic, and data lineage.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal data governance policies.
Conformity Criteria:
- 7+ years in data migration (at least 3+ in HR data), delivering complex, multi-system migrations at enterprise scale.
- Proven experience in SAP HCM data migration projects, especially involving SF EC and S/4HANA.
- Proven hands-on expertise with data migration tools, SAP BIB, CPI, IDoc, and OData services.
- SAP Certification in SuccessFactors EC and/or SAP Integration Suite.
- Experience in hybrid SAP HCM landscapes and phased rollouts.
- Fluency in Dutch, French, and English (minimum B2 for all three languages).
- Minimum 3 days per week onsite.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Knowledge of HR master data, organizational structures, and payroll-relevant data.
- Knowledge of data mapping and transformation logic and techniques.
- Knowledge of SAP ECC HCM and data structures, plus exposure to custom Z-tables.
- Knowledge of SuccessFactors EC Datamodel, Object Types, and data structures.
- Problem-solving capabilities.
