Job Description:
As a full-time Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for driving IFRS 9 credit risk management by delivering accurate ECL calculations, robust models, and high-quality data to ensure reliable provisioning and regulatory compliance. You will provide actionable insights to management through in-depth analysis of risk drivers, portfolio evolution, and cross-functional coordination, supporting strategic decision-making. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Dutch or French is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate and monitor Expected Credit Losses (ECL) across portfolios (loss allowances, cost of risk, etc.).
- Manage IFRS 9 staging, including DPD monitoring and analysis of stage migrations.
- Develop, monitor, and validate risk parameters (PD, LGD, EAD): model development, calibration, backtesting, and periodic validation.
- Monitor and validate scorecards.
- Prepare and validate IFRS 9 data: ensure data quality, perform data checks, and organize data delivery to reporting tools.
- Analyze and explain provisioning movements: assess drivers of loss allowance variations (volume, portfolio mix, parameter changes); explain movements (stage migrations, write-offs, recoveries); communicate impacts to management.
- Prepare internal and external reporting.
- Ensure governance and coordination with Controlling and Accounting; manage methodological changes and obtain required approvals (e.g., models, parameters).
- Maintain IFRS 9 documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain strong cross-functional coordination with relevant departments (Collections, Litigation, etc.) to identify and analyze the root causes of staging movements, write-offs, and other credit risk developments.
- Contribute to and oversee risk and compliance initiatives within the organization.
Required Profile:
- Education: Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Applied Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in credit risk.
- Risk Models Knowledge: Proficiency in credit risk model (ECL: PD, LGD, EAD) and a solid understanding of the overall risk rules (IFRS 9) & landscape.
- Technical Skills: Competency in econometrics and statistical model building. Experience with SAS is essential; knowledge of other analytical tools such as STATA, Python, and SQL is a significant advantage.
- Programming Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including VBA, or other procedural programming languages.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Dutch or French is preferred. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
